Beddgelert is a beautiful and picturesque village set in the Snowdonia National Park and is just 10 minutes from Aberdunant Hall.
With its charming setting set at the foot of some beautiful mountainous scenery, Beddgelert offers a number of shops, cosy pubs and great places to eat. It is famous for the story behind its name as well as the river that runs through the village making it a great place to visit time and time again.
As one of the areas most famous villages it offers a short and easy walk that helps you explore the area and takes you to Gelerts Grave which is what Beddgelert means in English.
For those of you that like to take a leisurely stroll rather than tackle the larger mountains the area has to offer, this walk will only take you around 40 minutes to an hour, but on the way you’ll learn about Gelert and the amazing story this village tells.
You’ll be starting on the River Glaslyn and then walk past an amazing wood work shop where you’ll be very much tempted to stop on the way back. From there it’s a beautiful walk along the river towards Gelerts Grave where you’ll be amongst sheep and views of Hebog Mountain.
